III. Mailing Lists
III.1 AquaThought DAT Efficacy Archive
This membership based list serves to collect reports of positive and negative
(abnormal) Dolphin Assisted Therapy results. The tabulated results are returned,
via email, to all subscribers on a regular basis. Results are also posted
on this
Web site. Future web enhancements will allow members to post reports using
an
automated form. To learn more about or join the Archive, send a message
to:
DAT-Response-Request@aquathought.com, with "help" in the subject
or body.
III.2 MARMAM
MARMAM is an edited e-mail discussion list devoted to topics in marine mammal
research and conservation. A wide spectrum of message types are found on
MARMAM,
all related to marine mammal research and/or conservation.
All messages not meant for MARMAM subscribers should be sent to the listserver
(listserv@uvvm.uvic.ca). As the list-server is an automated service, it
is
important that commands be sent without errors or extraneous text.
To subscribe, send a message to listserv@uvvm.uvic.ca which says: subscribe
marmam Yourfirstname Yourlastnamename
To unsubscribe, send the message: signoff marmam
If you want to temporarily discontinue your subscription without signing
off the
list, send the message: set marmam nomail
to continue it, send the message: set marmam mail
To receive marmam messages daily as a single file, send the message: set
marmam
digests to listserv@uvvm.uvic.ca. To change this setting to individual messages,
send the message: set marmam mail
III.3 Bioacoustics-L
Bioacoustics-L is for discussion of any subjects related to sound in the
natural
world, including animal communication, sonar, acoustic behavior, signal
processing for bioacoustics, the impact of noise on animals, acoustic tracking,
and any other topics that may come up. Discussion of experimental methods
and
equipment, queries for information, announcements of results, and raising
of
public policy questions are all welcome.
To subscribe to Bioacoustics-L, send mail to listproc@cornell.edu with the
message contents of
SUBSCRIBE bioacoustics-l <your real name>
and you'll be automatically included in the list of subscribers. Be sure
to use
your real name, rather than your email address, like this:
SUBSCRIBE bioacoustics-l Dave Mellinger
The mailing-list software automatically gets your email address from the
header
of your message. The subject line is ignored. Note that the software tries
to
interpret EVERY line of the message body as a command, so any "signature"
text
appended by your mailer will confuse it.
When you first subscribe, you will receive a list password, which is typically
a
string of digits. Use this password to change your email address, like this:
SET bioacoustics-l ADDRESS <password> <new email address>
To stop getting messages from the list, send a message like this:
UNSUBSCRIBE bioacoustics-l
To send mail to everyone on the list, address your message to
bioacoustics-L@cornell.edu.
NOTE! Please be careful when replying to a message received from the list.
Your
mail program may automatically reply to bioacoustics-l@cornell.edu, making
your
message go out to everyone on the list.
III.4 CLINICAL-PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY
Subscription Address: MAILBASE@MAILBASE.AC.UK Owner: Dr. Arnon Rolnick
<biosee@ccsg.tau.ac.il>
This list provides an opportunity for clinicians and researchers to share
ideas
encompassing the broad area of clinical psychophysiology. It is a forum
for
individuals who use psychophysiological technique in the fields of medicine,
psychology, psychiatry, social work, physical therapy, education, and sport.
The
following topics are an example of the list's scope: issues of physical
health
and illness; biofeedback technique in the modification of physiological
activity;
stress research and management; clinical application of biofeedback and
self
regulation technique; the use of physiological measures in clinical psychology
and psychiatry; issues of performance enhancement. Discussion is welcomed
regarding: clinical cases, research and treatment issues, professional practice
concerns, information on new devices and software, and announcements of
conferences and workshops.
III.5 Ethology
Contact: ethology-owner@searn.sunet.se Contact: ETHOLOGY-request@SEARN.SUNET.SE
Purpose: An unmoderated mailing list for the discussion of animal behaviour
and
behavioural ecology. Possible topics could be e.g. new or controversial
theories,
new research methods, and equipment. Announcements of books, papers, conferences,
new software for behavioural analysis etc., with possible experiences, are
also
encouraged.
To subscribe, send email to LISTSERV@SEARN.sunet.se and in the body of the

III.7 Mind-L
The MIND-L mailing list is a great source for daily dialog on neurotechnology
and
related subjects (let your conscience be your guide... this is an unmoderated
list). Topics include (but are not limited to) L/S (light&sound) machines,
Cranial Electrical Stimulation, Biofeedback, smart nutrients, sensory
deprivation, float tanks, pulsed magnetic field generators, etc. If any
of these
terms are unfamiliar to you, just ask. You'll find no shortage of information
here. Plenty of far out concepts and wired participants. To subscribe, you
must
send a message containing "subscribe mind-l (your name)" to listproc@gate.net,
